Stephanie Raymond, Executive Director

Stephanie Raymond

Stephanie has been with Cascade since, 1996, including 17 years serving as Associate Director.  As Executive Director, she guides the daily operations of 28 full- and part-time staff.  Stephanie also manages Cascade’s multimillion dollar funding program, supporting 18 Hemophilia Treatment Centers (HTCs) and 7 Hemophilia Foundations located in Michigan, Ohio and Indiana, fulfilling the mission and goals of Cascade.  

She has extensive knowledge of the 340B Federal Drug Discount Program and is a dedicated advocate in Washington DC for the bleeding disorder community.  Stephanie serves as a member of the Hemophilia Alliance Board of Directors and because of her experience administering grants, serves as a board member of the Hemophilia Alliance Foundation as co-chair of their grants committee. 

Stephanie is married and together with her husband, Rodney, they are raising a very spoiled Boston Terrier named Winston.  Stephanie feels very fortunate and thankful for the many long-time friendships made throughout her years at Cascade.  “We have an exceptional region filled with many wonderful and dedicated people”.

 

Chelsea Seal, Finance Director

Chelsea SealChelsea is Cascade’s Finance Director and has been with Cascade since 2015. Chelsea oversees day-to-day operations, assists the Executive Director in the administration of Cascade grants, audits, business planning, and a variety of other activities. What she enjoys most about her job is the variability of what she does – no two days are the same. Also, she feels very lucky to be surrounded by coworkers who are so committed to the community in which Cascade serves. Chelsea has a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Accounting from Eastern Michigan University and received her MBA from Spring Arbor University. Chelsea loves spending time with her husband, Jay, and sons Brekin and Kylan.

Michael Altese, PharmD Pharmacy Director

Michael AlteseOur Pharmacy Director, Mike, started at Cascade in 2007. He manages the daily operation of the pharmacy by working with patients and treatment center staff to manage our patients’ pharmacy needs. He also manages the inventory for Cascade and our contract Hemophilia Treatment Center partners. Mike enjoys this area of work and values strong relationships within the bleeding disorder community.

Mike received his Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Michigan. He is a huge fan of University of Michigan Athletics and enjoys attending sporting events. When he isn’t running, traveling, or hiking in our national parks, you can find him at home working on crossword puzzles with his wife, Melissa and cat, Simon.

 

Ted Beimel, RPh, Pharmacist

Ted BeimelTed has worked at Cascade on a part-time basis for almost as long as Cascade has been in existence; over 25 years. He’s been a pharmacist for many years and previously worked in the hospital environment. Ted enjoys working at Cascade because it allows him talk to a lot of nice people on the phone. This is a very interesting area of pharmacy practice because hemophilia treatment medications have evolved from just a few medications years ago, to many more options.

Ted likes to spend his spare time biking and swimming, learning more about the environment, and doing carpentry. He’s remodeled 8 houses in Ann Arbor and, outside of pharmacy work, enjoys it very much.

Rachel Blake, CPhT, Pharmacy Technician

photo of Rachel BlakeRachel has been a certified pharmacy technician since 2008 and joins our team with over 11 years of pharmacy experience. She has worked at inpatient hospital pharmacies as well as other specialized areas of pharmacy.  She is excited to join Cascade to serve patients on a more specialized level. Rachel joined Cascade because she enjoys serving and helping others. In her free time, Rachel enjoys exploring the outdoors and visiting national parks. She loves to hike and camp with her sister and two nephews who are her camping buddies.  Yoga is also an activity that Rachel is passionate about.

Rebecca Blumenfeld, Patient Billing and Resolution Specialist
Rebecca BlumenfeldRebecca joined Cascade in December 2020. Rebecca is passionate about healthcare and helping our patients. She completed her Certified Professional Coding Certificate from AAPC, obtained her Associate in Management, and is working toward her Bachelor of Health Care Administration from Central Michigan University. In her downtime, Rebecca enjoys traveling, gardening, and spending time with her three children.
Devin Bromley, CPhT, RPhT, Prior Authorization & Insurance Specialist

Devin BromleyDevin was hired in 2014 at Cascade as the pharmacy technician.  Prior to that, she worked in retail pharmacy. She was Cascade’s Chief Pharmacy Technician for 8 years and now does prior authorizations and resolves insurance issues. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology with a minor in Management and finds working at Cascade very rewarding and challenging.  Every day is something new. She says, “It’s great to be a part of a community where we actually make a difference,” Devin likes spending time with friends, her fiancé, future step-daughter, and her cat Mia.

Jaclyn Buckley, BSN, RN, Clinical Care Manager

Jaclyn BuckleyJaclyn was welcomed to Cascade in 2023 as a Registered Nurse. With 3 years of experience in the Emergency Department, Jaclyn has a kind heart and desires to help teach others about the bleeding disorder community. Jaclyn’s role at Cascade is to assist with the intake and education of new patients and the implementation of Cascade’s nursing program. Jaclyn obtained her bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University and continued to Wayne State University to obtain her BSN. In her spare time, Jaclyn enjoys traveling, spending time with her family, and attending concerts.

Sue Carlini, Senior Accountant
Sue CarliniSue graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor degree in Accounting and began working for Cascade in 2011. As Senior Accountant, she is responsible for Cascade’s accounts payables and receivables, for financial records of Cascade’s HTC contract pharmacy programs and the recording of daily financial transactions. Sue has two daughters who are the loves of her life. She enjoys working out, solving Sudoku puzzles and baking treats for her family and for the office.
Gail Donehue, Operations Assistant

Gail DonehueGail has been with Cascade since 2018, fulfilling the position as our Operations Assistant, serving a variety of roles in office management, as well as accounts receivables.  Gail has 29+ years of experience as an Executive Assistant with a large technology firm.  She enjoys working with our dedicated and caring staff as well as connecting with the bleeding disorder community.  Gail loves spending time with her two daughters and her new grandchild, gardening and traveling.  Life is good!

Roxana Dumitrache, PharmD, Pharmacist

Roxana Dumitrache, PharmD, PharmacistRoxana graduated from the University of Michigan where she earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree. Her previous pharmacy experience includes outpatient pharmacy and investigational drugs. Since joining Cascade in 2021, Roxana has been inspired by the mission and operational model of Cascade which allows her to utilize her clinical skills and focus on providing the best care to each individual patient. Furthermore, she enjoys the interdisciplinary collaboration between all the staff at Cascade and personnel from HTCs, all of whom are dedicated to empowering patients in the Hemophilia community to live healthy and happy lives.

Roxana spends most of her free time traveling and visiting with family and friends. She loves being outdoors and staying active, yet she is also a foodie who loves to try new, local restaurants!

Sara Gligoroff, CPhT, Prior Authorization, Insurance Specialist

photo of Sara GligoroffSara is a graduate of Eastern Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science in Therapeutic Recreation. She has worked in many different pharmacy settings as a Pharmacy Technician throughout her career, most recently within a Specialty Pharmacy in Ohio. Sara is excited to experience a different aspect of the Pharmacy world, working with Prior Authorizations. In her spare time Sara likes to spend time with her husband and son enjoying the many things that Michigan has to offer.

Kirk Haddas, PharmD, Pharmacist
Kirk Haddas Kirk is a graduate of the University of Michigan where he earned his Doctor of Pharmacy degree. His previous pharmacy experience includes hematology/oncology, investigational drugs and pharmaceutical industry research and development.

Since joining Cascade in July 2019, Kirk has enjoyed becoming part of such a welcoming and patient-focused team who goes out of their way to work together with healthcare partners and patients in the community.

Kirk is a “car guy” and likes talking shop with others. He also enjoys spending time with his family doing a variety of activities including movies, concerts, football games or just hanging out and having dinner together.

Karen Hagemeyer, RPh, BCGP, Compliance Officer

Karen Hagemeyer, RPh, BCGP, Compliance Officer Karen joined Cascade staff in November 2022 as a compliance officer. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy degree from the University of Toledo and is a Registered Pharmacist in both Michigan and Ohio. Throughout her over 20-year pharmacy career, she has worked in retail pharmacy, college health pharmacy, and long-term care pharmacy. It was through these experiences she gained an interest and appreciation for compliance, policies and procedures, accreditation, and working with various government agencies to ensure compliance at all levels. She is excited to work with Cascade in their compliance department helping them exceed accreditation standards and serve the blood disorder community!
When not working Karen enjoys working on their grain and cattle farm in Northwest Ohio with her husband and three sons, traveling, genealogy research, and camping with family and friends.

Kristina Halcomb, CPhT, Medical Biller

Kristina Holcomb, CPhT, Pharmacy TechnicianKristina joined the Cascade team in August 2021. She has many years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician in a variety of environments, including retail, long term care, and a medical office, and she is excited to add Cascade to that list; Kristina enjoys working with a team that is so dedicated to serving their community and creating positive outcomes for patients. She has a bachelor’s degree from Siena Heights University in Radio and TV Broadcasting. In her spare time, Kristina enjoys sewing, gardening, camping, dance parties with her sisters, and hanging out with her spouse, friends, and collies.

Dean M. Hindenlang, Ph.D., Director of Public Policy and Strategic Initiatives

Dean M. Hindenlang has been serving the nonprofit and government sectors for over 25 years, focusing on strategic planning, administrative oversight and governance, and coalition-building, through an equity-based lens. As Director of Public Policy and Strategic Initiatives, Dean understands the importance of coalition-building, while helping to ensure that individuals needing assistance are advocated for at multiple levels of community- and government-based engagement. He is a proven leader in assisting members of marginalized and underserved communities. Mr. Hindenlang holds a Ph.D. in Public Policy and Administration, a Master of Public Administration, a Master of Science in Marketing and Communication, and a bachelor’s degree in English.

Dean serves Cascade by engaging local and state authorities, as well as elected officials, on matters of public policy actions, projects, and patient education and advocacy. As the Director of Public Policy and Strategic Initiatives, Dean is acutely aware that change is an iterative process; equity is sustained not offered; and, that patients deserve the best possible care and advocacy, when accessing their healthcare providers.

Colleen Joiner, LMSW Clinical Care, Education and Outreach Manager

Colleen JoinerColleen started with the Cascade team in 2016. She attended Michigan State University and then Wayne State University for her Master of Social Work degree. Colleen has worked with individuals and families living with chronic illness throughout the span of her career including HIV/AIDS and geriatric health. She began working in the bleeding disorder community in 2001, and appreciates working with such caring and resilient group of people. She has 15 years of experience managing educational programming, psychosocial events and support services to individuals and families living with a bleeding disorder, and currently provides patient insurance navigation, education and outreach with Cascade. Colleen loves to travel and explore new cultures as well as spend quality time with friends and family.

Paul Kasdorf, Technology and Facility Manager

Paul KasdorfPaul joined the Cascade team in 2018 and enjoys working with such a compassionate and dedicated staff in helping the community Cascade serves. Prior to Cascade, he was a project manager at L-3 Communications working on projects for federal, state, and automotive clients. Whenever time permits, Paul loves to go on road trips and exploring our national parks with his family. Paul is a veteran of the United States Air Force.

Casey Kepczynski, PharmD, Pharmacist

Casey Kepczynski, PharmD, PharmacistCasey is a graduate of Ferris State University where she earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree and an alumna of Oakland University where she received her Bachelor of Health Science. Her previous experience includes retail pharmacy, but she’s always had an interest in specialty pharmacy. Cascade and the Hemophilia community hold a special place in her heart by having family directly affected by the disorder. She is excited to influence the community with her clinical and personal knowledge within Cascade and is looking forward to collaborating with the variety of healthcare providers by using a team-based approach for every patient. Casey enjoys going out with her family and friends, taking care of her Pomeranian Gracie, and loves all things Disney.

Emily Kwaske, AAS, Accountant/Bookeeper II
Emily Kwaske AASEmily graduated with an Associate in Applied Science degree in Accounting in May 2021 from Washtenaw Community College. Emily joined Cascade in February of 2023 and is looking forward to learning and growing professionally. Outside of work, Emily loves all things “nerdy”, especially Star Wars, and she loves to explore the outdoors with her husband.
Thomas Kwaske, AAS, Accountant/Bookeeper

Thomas Kwaske, AAS, Accountant/BookeeperThomas joined Cascade in 2022. He has previously worked as an Accounting Assistant and an Accounts Payable Specialist. At Cascade, his responsibilities include assisting with the maintenance and balancing of the organization’s financial systems. He is grateful to be working with such a welcoming team and is happy to be of service to the hemophilia community.

Melissa Laustroer, CPhT, Director of Operations and Human Resources

Melissa LaustroerMelissa loves working with Cascade as their Director of Operations and Human Resources. She started with Cascade in October of 2020 but has been working in bleeding disorders since 2015. Melissa graduated in 2017 with her bachelor’s in human resources from Davenport University and is also a licensed pharmacy technician. Currently she is pursuing her MBA with University of Phoenix. In her spare time, Melissa is spending time with her husband Marco, camping when the weather permits, cooking, and traveling.

Mary McClure, Office Manager
Mary McClureMary began working at Cascade in 2012. As Office Manager, she is usually the first voice you hear when you call Cascade. She keeps the office flowing and makes sure our patients are directed to the appropriate staff. Mary is certified in Medical Billing and Coding. After learning about the Cascade mission and witnessing the compassion and hard work of the Cascade staff, she decided that she wanted to be part of Cascade. Outside of work Mary enjoys watching old movies, spending time with her family and serving her church.
Joanna Pangilinan, PharmD, BCOP, Compliance Officer
Joanna PangilinanAn Illinois native, Joanna attended the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign. She graduated from St Louis College of Pharmacy and completed a pharmacy practice residency at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago. Joanna started at Cascade in 2008 as an as-needed pharmacist. She currently works in the role of compliance officer ensuring that Cascade maintains its high accreditation standards. In her free time, she enjoys visiting Chicago, reading fiction and trying out new recipes on her husband and three daughters.

Ethan Perry, RPhT,  Pharmacy Technician

Ethan joined the Cascade team in April of 2022. He has over 5 years of retail pharmacy experience and says he discovered his passion for pharmacy while working toward his Bachelor of Business Administration from Siena Heights University. Ethan joined Cascade because of his love for helping others. In his free time, Ethan enjoys playing card and board games with friends and family. He is also a big movie lover and continues to add to his collection.

Stephanie Sibrel, BSN, RN, Clinical Care, Education and Outreach Manager

Stephanie SibrelStephanie joined the Cascade staff in September of 2019 as a Registered Nurse with over 20 years of experience in the hospital and ambulatory setting. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Spring Arbor University. Stephanie has an immense passion for the bleeding disorder community having worked in the community for over 11 years. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, gardening, baking, walking her dog and traveling to Michigan’s many wonderful lakes. Stephanie is an Ohio native and continues to cheer for her favorite football team, THE Ohio State Buckeyes, despite being surrounded by Wolverine and Spartan fans!!

Debbie Whelan, LMSW, Clinical Care Manager

Debbie WhelanDebbie has a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Michigan. She has worked in a variety of settings including foster care, mental health, developmental disabilities and chronic illness. Debbie has worked in medical settings for the past 30 years including Henry Ford Hospital and Children’s Hospital of Michigan. She joined Cascade in 2009 as a Social Worker where she enjoys helping families and treatment centers navigate a myriad of insurance challenges. Debbie lives with her husband, two adult children and two cats. She enjoys camping, baking and is an avid Detroit Tigers fan.
