Cascade Hemophilia Consortium

A non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the system of care for people with bleeding disorders

Cascade Reaffirms Commitment to Non-Discrimination

The board leadership and executive staff of Cascade Hemophilia Consortium recognize that recent events have real, significant, and lasting implications to the patients we serve, and the staff we employ. We further acknowledge that white privilege is real; systemic racism exists in both our communities and within the healthcare system; and, that we each have a tangible role in adding our voices to effecting meaningful and lasting change.

We reaffirm our commitment to our Non-Discrimination Statement; we acknowledge that change begins from within and commit to ensuring ongoing education and skill-building for board members and staff in addressing racist ideas and creating an anti-racist environment; and, we challenge our community partners to acknowledge, address, and work to eliminate racism in the programs that are offered to the bleeding disorders communities, and to creating greater access to minorities in both programs and services that are offered to members of our community.

Cascade knows that silence and inaction will not bring about change, and we cannot be afraid to have uncomfortable conversations about these painful issues. We encourage members of the bleeding disorders communities to support each other, to speak out about racial injustice, and to consider how each of us can effect change.
